Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable later Medieval or Post Medieval date (1350 - 1650). The weight is broadly circular in plan and rectangular in cross section. The edges around the front face are faceted; one side is damaged due to an old and heavily abraded break. The design on the front consists of a concentric pattern with an irregular star formed from a vertical and saltire cross placed at the centre. This is enclosed by a single raised ring which in turn is enclosed by a further ring with a series of irregular triangles on its inner edge (forming a tooth like pattern). T…

A cast lead alloy weight of probable Roman or Medieval date 100 -1650 AD. The weight is an irregular conical shape with the base being an irregular circular shape and the apex an irregular dome. The weight is undecorated, although it has a series of possible marks on the outer surface these are distorted by laminating corrosion patina. The weight is pierced at the apex by an irregular slanting hole which has possibly cast rather than drilled: the hole has a diameter of 4.9mm. Without other artefacts from the same context it is difficult to date the artefact; due to the variation in fi…

A complete, cast, lead alloy weight, probably Post Medieval in date, although these are difficult to date and therefore a broader Roman - Post Medieval date range is suggested. This plain weight has a squat, cylindrical shape. There is a small central piercing. It is mostly grey over its smooth surface, with a yellow cream patina in its crevices. There is no obvious decoration or symbols on the surfaces.
It's maximum diameter is 25.9mm, and it is 14.9mm high. It weighs 40.8g.
The central piercing's diameter is 4.8mm.

The surface is very abraded, with a yellow white patina in the unworn areas, and grey yellow colour where abrasion has occurred. There is no obvious decoration or symbols on the well worn surface.
It's maximum diameter is 30.4mm, and it is 16.1mm high. It weighs 65.7g.

A cast lead weight of post medieval date. The unmarked weight is broadly flat and broadly circular in plan. It has a pronounced and battered, irregular rim, which is most prominent on the top side. The irregular nature of the rim is probably due to knocks in the plough soil, which have also slighlty bent the weight and left a couple of gouges. The weight has a yellow grey patina all over.
The maximum diameter of the weight is51.0mm, and its maximum thickness, from the rim, is 11.2mm. It weighs 139.6g (4.92 oz).

Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable Medieval date (1200-1500 AD). The weight is broadly circular in plan and regular in cross section. The upper face is relatively flat and has a single irregular pierced hole through the centre. The corroded remnants of an iron wire are present; this wire would have aided the use and also secured it for safekeeping / storage. The weight is a mid grey colour with an even, but slightly corroded and abraded, patina which covers all surfaces. The weight has been marked by movement in the ploughsoil. This weight is most likely to date from the later…

Complete lead alloy weight of uncertain date. This crude weight is circular and flat. It is made of lead and has no decoration or marks. Its shape suggests it was used as a measure, and its pre-decimal weight of 1.02oz makes this likely. It has an off white patina. One side is smoother and flatter than the other.
Its diameter is 26.7mm, its thickness is 6.2mm and it weighs 28.9g.
A similar weight, PUBLIC-7E00A6 Weight, was found nearby.
