The base is relatively flat and even. The weight is undecorated. A drilled transverse hole (diameter: 1.19mm) is present on the upper edge of the weight. A cast lead alloy circular ball (similar in size and shape to a musket ball) of probable post medieval 1600-1800 date. The ball has a circular shaped hole through its mid point (5.19mm in diameter) and has no sign of decoration, casting seam or casting spur. It is a light grey colour with a relatively thick surface patina. It is highly unlikely that the ball is from shot and instead is suggested to be from a line or net weight.
The ball measures: 16.35mm in diameter, 14.76mm high and weighs 20.0 grams
