Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable medieval or post medieval date (1300 - 1800). The weight is sub-circular in plan and sub-triangular (conical) in cross section. There is no suspension loop. The weight is a mid-grey colour with an even patina that covers all surfaces. It has been marked and abraded in the soil; this has caused the weight to become asymmetrical. Similar standing weights have been dated to the medieval and post medieval periods. It is likely that the weight would have been used as a trade weight weighing four ounces - 1/4 lb. The weight measures 31.0mm wide,…

A cast lead alloy weight or possibly a stopper of uncertain age; most probably later medieval or post medieval (1200-1800). The weight is broadly square shaped in plan with a faceted and waisted profile. From the lower edge a square sectioned project extends; this projection is not pierced. The upper surface is slightly domed and heavily abraded; a series of geometric marks are present but these could be as a result of movement in the ploughsoil.
