A lead alloy weight, possibly a pump seal weight, of likely Post Medieval date (c. AD 1650-1800). The weight is sub-rectangular in plan, profile, and cross section. On the top of the weight, there is a sub-rectangular recess where the left and right hand edges are raised and in the centre there is a sub-oval lug (26.19mm long, 22.75mm wide). On the reverse, there are two raised sections on both the left and right hand side that both curve inwards, creating a recess that has larger, trapezoidal sections at the top and the bottom of the weight connected by a narrower sub-rectangula…

A lead alloy weight or token of Medieval to Post Medieval date (c. AD 1400-1800). The object is circular in plan and rectangular in cross-section. It has a relatively uniform thickness and there is no extant decoration on either the obverse or the reverse. There are the possible remnants of a central pellet on the obverse, since there is a slightly circular raised section in the centre that shows signs of breakage in the past, however, there does not appear to be any strong evidence to suggest it was an intentionally moulded pellet rather than an accidental product of casting. The dis…

A complete, cast lead alloy, weight of post medieval date. The weight is flat and broadly circular in plan. It has an abraded , irregular rim, which is most prominent on the top side. The irregular nature of the rim is probably due to movement in the plough soil. On both sides of the weight is a central indentation. The only markings are four irregularly spaced, incised ringlets on one half of the top side. The weight has a yellow grey patina all over. The maximum diameter of the weight is 30.5mm, and its maximum thickness, at the rim, is 5.4mm. It weighs 23.95g ( 0.845oz).
