Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable medieval date (1200 - 1550). The weight is sub-cylindrical (egg shaped) being oval in plan and cross section. A small copper alloy wire loop is imbedded in the top of the weight it is 4.8mm high, 1.7mm diameter. The hole has a diameter 4.2mm and a clear U shaped groove is present in the top of the weight to enable a cord or wire to be fitted through the loop. The upper face is relatively flat and has a series of cast marks impressed upon it. These marks seem to be random in shape and pattern, mostly being irregular crescents or pellets.
