A complete cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable medieval date (1300 - 1550). The weight is broadly oval (sub-rectangular with tapering sides terminating in blunt points) in plan and cross section. On the upper point is an integral cast suspension loop which would have been circular in plan and oval in cross section but is distorted, probably from plough damage. The perforation / hole through the centre is also oval and again distorted. The body of the weight has a large central rib which extends from the upper edge to the base. The weight seems to be relatively undecorated. The …

A cast lead alloy circular ball (similar in size and shape to a musket ball) of probable post medieval 1600-1800 date. The ball has a circular shaped hole through its mid point (5.19mm in diameter) and has no sign of decoration, casting seam or casting spur. It is a light grey colour with a relatively thick surface patina. It is highly unlikely that the ball is from shot and instead is suggested to be from a line or net weight. The ball measures: 16.35mm in diameter, 14.76mm high and weighs 20.0 grams

A complete copper alloy probable apothecary or coin weight, of uncertain dating possibly from Early Post Medieval to Modern (AD 1600 toAD 1900). The probable weight is circular in shape, with a flat cross section. The object has a raised outer rim on both faces, this possibly enabled the object to be stacked. The objects surfaces are very worn and corroded therefore it is not possible to determine any design on either faces. The probable weight is a light to mid-green colour, with an uneven surface patina. The object is similar to apothecary weights as illustrated in Biggs (1992) p…
