Cast lead alloy weight of unknown date probably later medieval or modern 1300-1800 AD. The weight is sub-circular in plan and D shaped in profile. Through the centre is a circular hole (9.6mm ) with a distinct wear facet on the internal edge. There is no decoration. The weight is a mid grey colour with an even, but powdery corrosion. Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable later Medieval or Post Medieval date (1350 - 1650). The weight is broadly circular in plan and rectangular in cross section. The edges around the front face are faceted; one side is damaged due to an old and heavily abraded break. The design on the front consists of a concentric pattern with an irregular star formed from a vertical and saltire cross placed at the centre. This is enclosed by a single raised ring which in turn is enclosed by a further ring with a series of irregular triangles on its inner edge (forming a tooth like pattern). T…

An incomplete, cast lead weight with iron hook or loop, of unknown date. This large weight has a flat top and bottom, and is sub-oval in cross-section, tapering out from bottom to top. It has suffered much abrasion due to its size, which may account for it only having one area of creamy patina (on its top) and it being mishaped. Off centre in the top is the stub of an iron hook or loop, which is oval in cross-section (8.0mm by 10.5mm) The weight was found about 15 metres from a corner of the field marked as a hop yard on the 1841 tithe map. Its top is 45mm by 42mm, its bottom …
