A cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame dating to the post-medieval period (c. 16th - 17th century), incomplete insofar as it is missing its pin. The frame is formed of a pair of shallow oval loops either aide of a narrowed bar which has low, moulded knops either end. The outer edge is enlarged to accommodate a moulded rosette, with defined petals. A notch is present on one edge and it is possible that this is an artefact of movement in the soil rather than a rest for the pin. The fragment has a thick green well formed surface patina. A near complete Medieval copper alloy single loop sub-triangular buckle dated c AD 1250-1400. The outer edge of the buckle frame is expanded and terminates in a blunted point that is flanked by two small nub-like projections creating an irregular trefoil shaped moulding. The opposing edge has a narrowed and offset strap bar with two terminal knops on either edge. The upper surface of the buckle is decorated with a recessed pin rest flanked by horizontal grooves. A cast copper alloy single looped 'roller' buckle. The frame is oval with a narrower offset strap bar expanded at each end with two small knops. The front end of the buckle is expanded and decorated with two knops the loop is recessed to house a copper alloy sheet roller decorated with six circumfrential incisions.The pin bar is recessed and narrow. An incomplete copper alloy Medieval D shape buckle frame with a narrowed and offset bar. The buckle is flat in profile and shows some bevelling on the inside of the loop. It has a raised area on the outer edge opposite the bar that houses four parallel raised ribs. The centre two being the highest and would have housed the pin. An incomplete, cast, copper alloy buckle frame of medieval or post medieval date, AD c. 1350-c. 1650. The artefact consists of the outer loop of either a single loop, D shaped buckle or a double looped (spectacle) buckle. The frame has a triangular shaped, notched pin rest, with a decorative groove either side. The frame is oval in cross section, and is titled so that the outer face slopes outwards and downwards towards the rear. It has an even mid- green coloured well preserved surface patina. Weight 2.7g. Remaining length 20mm, width 28mm, thickness 3.8mm.

An incomplete cast copper alloy pin from a buckle of late Medieval to Post Medieval date (1200 - 1500 AD). The pin is sub rectangular in plan, and rectangular in cross section. The shank of the pin tapers to a blunt end. The pin is slighlty wider and deeper at the head of the pin, where the loop that held the pin to the buckle bar has broken off, leaving two rough areas, one at the end of the pin and one underneath. The pin has a mid green patina A similar pin is HESH-170955. Surviving length 31mm. Width 4mm. Thickness 7mm. Weight 1.3g.

The frame has a single loop, which is circular except for a short, straight section for the pin bar, opposite which is a notch for the pin rest. The frame is a quarter oval in cross-section with a flatened back. The frame has a deep green patina. There are file marks but no sign of decoration. The frame is 20.6mm long by 22.0mm wide. The frame varies in width between 3.2mm and 4.4mm wide, and is 3.2mm thick. It weighs 3.4 grams.
