Fabric Type: Fine sandstone.
Fabric Condition: A hard fabric from fine sandstone with inclusions.
Firing Condition: Black/ brown throughout.

Surface Texture: Rough granular appearance.
Glaze: Green appearance due to Vitrification.

Highly fired ceramic (possibly burnt sandstone) object of unknown date and unknown function. The object is pierced at the centre of the upper edge (7.1mm x 5.1mm). The pierced hole oval shaped and is much worn and possibly drilled from one face. The object is sub-rectangular in shape and almost rectangular in cross section. The lower edge is waisted / tapered. The function of this artefact is at present unknown - the pierced and worn nature would suggest that it is functional possibly acting as a weight for a line or net.
