Rim sherd of a thick walled earthen ware vessel of probable late medieval date (1350-1500). This sherd is relatively large and thick. It probably comes from the neck of a large storage jar or possibly a jug / flagon. The fabric is relatively soft with a number of angular and sub-angular quartz, grit, iron stone and broken burnt pottery inclusions. The fabric colour is two-tone, the outer a mid orange oxidised and the inner (core) a mid grey.
