A silver cut halfpenny of probably King John (AD 1199-1216) - most probably fitting within Class 5 (AD 1204-1207) most probably struck by the moneyer Grefrei at with Northampton or Norwich. Due to clipping and also the coin being cut in half a more refined date is not possible. Looking at how the coin has been divided possibly suggests that it has been folded and has broken along the folded edge. The reasoin for this is the slight burring over of the break and also that the coin has been divided across the cross on the reverse rather than along.
