Roman copper alloy bow brooch of unusual design, probably a derivative of a Headstud type and dating to the early 2nd century AD. The brooch employed a spring mechanism secured by lateral lugs at the end of very short wings, which would not have protruded much beyond the head. At the head is the remnant of a flat plate, possibly from a chain loop. The head is comparatively long and has a sub-rectangular section. A fragment of a late Bronze Age cast bronze socketed axe consisting of the cutting edge and lower blade. It is sub-rectangular in plan with a slightly curved blade. The sides, adjacent to the cutting edge, taper inwards towards the break. In section the fragment is sub-triangular. The fragment measures 51mm width, 26mm length, and is 11mm thick. It weighs 46.24 grams. The cutting edge of the axe fragment, although corroded and slightly abraded by the soil, is worn and shows areas of possible sharpening and hammering. Cast copper alloy medieval seal matrix, showing the head of John the Baptist. The die is roughly circular in plan with a diameter of 11.5mm. The reverse rises to a height of 6mm terminating in a small flattened nipple. The matrix is roughly conical in section. It weighs 1.64 grams. The buckle frame is made of cast copper alloy. In plan it is a pointed oval shaped with only one complete loop, the other has the apex of the loop missing. The length of the frame is 24.7mm, the width is 20.2mm. The upper face of the frame is decorated with irregular grooves radiating out towards the outer edge of the frame. The reverse of the frame is undecorated and flat. The strap bar is trapezoidal shape in section. The pin is missing, but there is iron staining on the bar, which suggests there was an iron pin. The object is the fragment of a cast copper alloy cooking vessel rim. In plan it is a sub-rectangular shape, with the rim forming a narrow edge, and is the only unbroken edge. The breaks are not too recent, but also are not covered by the dark green patina on the interior surface. The interior surface has a well devloped smooth patina with slight pitting. In comparison the exterior surface has horizontal striations, and is covered with a heavy sooty deposit.
