Possibly double struck due to there being a lower I behind the head and II at around 2 o'clock in relation to the fainter I. Appears to have been clipped from around 1 o'clock to around 6 o'clock on the obverse.

No inner circles. There is an oblique c.4.20mm long tear in the coin around 12 o'clock on the obverse, and part of the coin is bent upward from around 7 o'clock to around 12 o'clock on the obverse.

The obverse is worn with pitting to surface on bust and area below the two pellets. Only one of the two pellets is clearly visible.

The coin is pierced from the reverse through to the obverseby a square shaped punch - the small amount of spall has not been trimmed - the hole is positioned at 3 o'clock and is placed neatly between the edge of the crowned thistle and teh inscription

Heavily worn and eroded silver half groat of later Tudor date - the style of the shield and the cross fourchee both indicate a coin of Elizabeth I - although this cannot be confirmed due to wear on the obverse which has removed the whole surface. There is possibly a date above the shield and with the eye of faith this reads 1574.

A heavily worn silver half groat of Charles I (1625-1649) struck at the tower mint. There initial marks are not preserved, however, the reverse depicts a rounded shield within an inner ring - which corresponds with Group D coins North 2258 dated between 1639-1649.
The coin has been pierced by a oval hole driven from the obverse through to the reverse - the hole is positioned at 3 o'clock on the obverse which has destroyed the value mark but avoided the bust of the king

A complete struck / hammered silver half groat of the Commonwealth period AD 1649 to AD 1660.
The coin has been bent in two directions, forming an S shape. From the obverse, at an angle of 45 degrees from right to left, the lower third is bent backwards, and the upper third is bent forward. Bending coins in such a manner is often associated with 'love tokens' and was common during the later post-medieval period.
The weight is 0.9g and the Diameter is 16.5mm
