An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill of Roman dating AD 80 to AD120. Around 25% of the brooch is present, consisting of the bow. The wings, spring, pin, foot and catch plate are missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The bow is angular and hump back, resembling a comma. It is broken around 1/3 of its length. Ridges are present at the shoulder junction between the bow and the wings. Decoration is present on the wings in the form of a vertical twisted rope style line. An incomplete cast copper alloy figurine, dating to the Roman period (c. 43-410 AD). The figurine is of high quality, but incomplete and worn, missing much of the finer surface detail and multiple limb elements. Both the arms are broken above the elbows, the left leg ends in a break above the knee while the right leg ends in a break just above the ankle.
