A complete medieval silver groat of Edward IV (first reign 1461-70), Class 7, dating to 1464-70. Mint: London. Initial mark: Crown. North no.1570.
Obverse: Crowned bust facing within tressure of arches, trefoils on cusps. Quatrefoils by bust. Legend: EDWARD DI GRA [REX ANGL Z FRANC]
Reverse: Mint within two concentric circles. Long cross pattée dividing legends with three pellets in each angle. Legend: POSVI DEV[M ADIVTORVM] MEVM // CIVITAS LONDON

A complete copper alloy buckle frame dating to the late medieval to post medieval period (c.AD 1350-1650).
The buckle is a 'spectacle' buckle that has a frame of two oval loops which form an overall figure of 8. It is D-shaped in section. A pin rest is present at the middle point of one of the loops, but the pin is missing. The frame is undecorated and has a dark green patina.
Dimensions: Length 20.51mm; width 17mm; thickness 2.2mm; weight 1.82g
Similar buckles are illustrated in Whitehead (2003: 52-4) from the 14th-17th centuries (Ibid: 52).

An annular buckle of cast copper alloy with separate, articulated pin, probably of date AD 1250-1450 (Whitehead 2003 pg 17 ex 34)
The pin has a three lobed semi-encircling set of ridges at the end closes to the loop.
