A worn and incomplete cast copper-alloy artefact of probable post-medieval date. It is formed of a sub-triangular central element with an arm protruding from one of the corners. There is a large central piercing in the central element (Dia.: 10.1mm). Its sides are formed of two incurving arcs which continue into the protrusion. At the end of the arc the protrduing arm has a maximum width of 9.35mm. Below this it tapers to a terminal 5.4mm wide. Four parts of the leather seat area (where the heel goes) of a shoe bottom of wooden pegged construction which was used from the 17th through to the 19th centuries. The individual parts measure c.55x60mm; 60x35mm; 25x55mm and 35x55mm. With many thanks to Quita Mould for the identification of this object, and to the finder for sending in the photographs and measurements.

A damaged and corroded copper alloy Roman coin: possibly a nummus of Helena, mother of Constantine,dating from AD 337 - 340 (Reece Period 17), PAX PVBLICA reverse type depicting Pax standing left holding a transverse sceptre and branch. Mint unknown. The legends are illegible, and the details of the coin are very difficult to make out. The remaining portion of the coin is 13.5mm long, 11.4mm wide and 1.2mm thick. It weighs 1gm.

An incomplete copper alloy enamelled unidentified object of uncertain date, all edges very water-worn but the original shape still apparently retained. The object is very flat (1.0mm thick) and subcircular in shape with a rectangular projection extending from the edge (which presumably originally extended further). The front of the object, with the projection extending at 12 o'clock, depicts a sub-circular enamel design within the curved edges of the object. A possibly incomplete probably medieval to post-medieval (1200-1800) copper-alloy mount, perhaps a book fitting, with a single integral rivet to the reverse. At one end of the artefact is a square, measuring 15.8mm in length and 18.6mm. Each corner has a pointed oval cut out, leaving a central cross with square ends. There are faint traces of gilding remaining within grooves which outline the pointed ovals, but not discernible anywhere else. An undatable Prehistoric (Neolithic to Bronze Age, 4000-800 BC) secondary flint flake with short, scaled, abrupt retouch along the lower right and left dorsal edges and the upper left ventral edge. The flint is translucent and buff in colour with a small patch of cortex behind the distal end. It measures 37.3x(max.)17.6x(max.)5.3mm and weighs 3.84g.
