An incomplete copper alloy buckle dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1720-1800). The buckle has an oval-shaped frame that is moulded to present repeating sub-triangular projections positioned at an equal distance apart. An incomplete integral dropped bar crosses the centre. A complete copper alloy buckle dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1350-1450). The buckle consists of a double-looped frame that is presented as a large oval loop and a smaller rectangular loop. Both loops are largely undecorated with patches of filing lines visible. The central that separates the two loops presents a constriction in the centre around which is wound a pin. A complete cast tinned copper alloy double-loop buckle , dating to the AD 18th century (from Whitehead 2003). A rectangular frame with a cast tube down the centre with two fixed, spiked tongues. No decoration. According to Whitehead (2003), this type of buckle would have been used for boots or garters.  Length 19.0mm, Width 16.7mm, Thickness 2.9mm, Weight 1.97g. Similar examples can be seen in LVPL-0CA787 and LVPL-99B613.

A complete cast copper alloy single-loop oval buckle, probably dating to the 14-15th centuries AD. The frame has an oval central hole with a small decorative protusion on the outside edge. The bar has two trapezoidal pointed pin rests and narrows at the pin slot. The open loop pin was found with the buckle; however, it is completely detached from it. The pin shaft is worn on one side, possibly from use. No decoration on either the front or back faces. The separately attached spindle survives with an incomplete iron tongue. The frame has a dark green patina. An incomplete copper alloy double looped annular buckle of Medieval to Post Medieval date c. AD 1350 -1650. The buckle consists of a sub-circular double looped frame with a narrow strap bar. The frame is circular in section, with smooth edges. The strap bar is slightly corroded, and the pin is missing. The buckle has a brown / green coloured patina.  Whitehead (2003) depicts similar buckles on page 44. He dates cast copper-alloy double loop annular buckles to AD 1350 - AD 1650. Dimensions: Diameter 15.0mm, Thickness 2.7mm, Weight 1.03g.

 A cast, copper alloy, double loop oval buckle, dating to the post medieval period (c.1550 - 1650). There is some moulded decoration on both pin rests, and possibly on the loops although this is worn / corroded. The pin is missing. The buckle has a light brown / green patina. Similarly formed buckles can be found in Whitehead (2003), see various example on p.61.

An incomplete copper alloy buckle dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1660-1720). The object is a trapezoidal shoe or knee buckle with a drilled frame for a separate spindle. The frame has a moulded decoration comprising of pairs of scrolls flanking each side of the spindle holes. Each scroll has a tail that borders the inner edge of the frame. The object has a smooth dark green patina. Dimensions: Length 33.6mm; width 21.5mm; thickness 2.8mm; weight 6.66g Comparative buckles are illustrated in Whitehead (2001: 98), see nos. 610-11 which are dated to 1660-1720.

A complete cast copper alloy spectacle buckle dating to the Medieval- Post-Medieval period AD 1350-1650. The buckle is double looped with an oval shaped frame with a bevelled outer edge. A similar buckle can be seen in Whitehead (2004:53) No.300 which dates to c. AD 1350-1650. The object has an overall dark green/brown patina. The front face is rounded and the back face is flat with a brown worn patina in comparison to the green of the front.

A complete cast copper alloy single loop buckle dating to the Medieval period c. AD 1250-1400. The buckle is sub-triangular with a narrowed and offset strap bar and ornate outer edge with a moulded trefoil shaped front of the frame. The buckle has a dark brown patina with patches of light green due to copper corrosion. The front face is rounded and the back face is flattened with greater wear.  Similar buckles can be seen in Whitehead (2003:24) Nos.107, 108 and 109 with a Medieval date.

An incomplete copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date (c.AD 1600-1720). The double loop sub-oval buckle is missing the pin and bar. The inside and outside edges are slightly convex. The top and bottom edges are decorated; however, the buckle heavily worn and thus no detail remains. The reverse is undecorated.
