Male head from red sandstone. It appears to be a man with his eyes closed. He is wearing some kind of cap. Behind the head, the fragment is flat, where it would have been fixed to a wall. It is c.170mm in height and c.100mm wide. It would have been the stop or finial at the end of a hood moulding over a window or arch or something similar. It appears to be slightly asymetrical which would support such a position. It would have been matched by another one at the other side of the arch. Probably 14th century in date.
