Prehistoric pottery sherd The fragment is irregular (28.2mm long, 22.4mm wide and up to 11.2mm thick, with a weight of 5.7g). Two of the breaks are old, while the other appears to be more recent. The fabric has a buff oxidised exterior surface but the interior is grey and appears reduced. Frequent angular quartz inclusions are present within the sherd of small and medium size. The spout is fragmentary, represented by the terminal (with a surviving length of 52.3mm and a weight of 50.4g). The dog is portrayed with oval and upright ears, protruding above the brow (by 1.2mm) and are concave across their widths. Cast copper alloy hooked fitting. The main body of the fitting consists of an oval plate bordered by transverse bars at either end. One end of the fitting terminates in a tapering strip which is folded over to form an elongated hook, while the other contains the broken remains of a loop. The end of the hook is missing. The transverse bars are both decorated with two incised grooves. Traces of possible tinning are visible on parts of the fitting. Much corroded. Minimum length 52.5mm, maximum width 19.5mm. Simple sword- belt fitting consisting of a parallel sided plate with two drilled attachment holes, one of which cuts the side. The upper end of the plate has a gentle curved wave. The hook curves back upon itself and has a circular cross-section, which gradually narrows in diameter. The plate originally carried decoration, which is now difficult to discern, but may have been a floral motif.

Small copper alloy strap end composed of two pieces of sheet copper alloy riveted with two pins (still intact) near the attachment edge. The strap end has parallel sides, with the outside edge tapering to a point. The attachment edge has a V-groove between the rivets on the front sheet, and is now plain elsewhere, any possible original decoration has been lost. The rear sheet is plain. On the Inside surface of both sheets near the outside edge is a relatively thick corrosion product, possibly suggesting the use of a spacer.

Back plate probably from a composite strap end with a forked spacer. The plate is flask-shaped, having a circular lower portion with a flat outside edge and a parallel-sided upper portion ending in a concave attachment edge. The face is plain and has two rivet holes near the attachment edge, with one pin still in place. The inner face of the plate shows the remnants of attachment of a forked spacer with a circular end. File marks are visible on the inner surface and there is the suggestion the strap end was tinned or silvered.

An incomplete copper alloy strip of probable Medieval to early Post Medieval date (c.AD 1300-1500). The strip is flat and sub-rectangular in plan (46.4mm long x 16.9mm max width x 1.5mm thick) with four crudely incised grooves at one end that are pierced by a single large globular rivet (c.7.1mm diameter). The other end terminates in an old break. No other traces of decoration survive. On the reverse, a small square piece of leather textile (13.4mm x 9.4mm) is preserved between the strip and the flattened rivet (max depth 6.4mm).
