A flint retouched flake of unknown date, mesolithic to Bronze Age, 9000 BC - 1000 BC. It is a triangular tertiary flake of mottled light grey flint, pointed at the proximal end. The left side has abrupt, short, scaled retouch. There is a notch in the right side which is probably later damage. The distal end is also retouched but is more sporadic. The dorsal face is covered with previous removal scars. It is 24.3mm long, 24.7mm wide and 3.1mm thick. 1.5g.

The other faces are covered with previous removal scars, mostly irregular, but one face has two neat blade removal scars. The core is sub-cuboid. It has one striking platform producing large blades with hinged terminations.  It is patinated to white. It is 44.3mm long, 32.4mm wide and 28.5mm thick. 59.4g.

A distorted but complete cast copper alloy Post Medieval crotal, rumbler or animal spherical bell probably dating from AD 1750 - 1900. The bell originally had four sound holes and two slots joining them. Damage to the bell has obscured one sound hole. There is no visible casting seam and the bell appears to have been cast in one. An incomplete moulded clay tobacco pipe, of Post Medieval date, about AD 1600 - 1670. It is a bowl fragment which has a heel. It has been moulded from a cream clay, probably a local coal measures clay. It has small dark grey inclusions. The small bowl and shape suggest a 17th century date (Oswald, 1975, figure 3). The pipe fragment is a complete heel bowl and the start of the stem. There is probable burnishing, but the details are obscured by sooting. A Post Medieval copper alloy coin bent in two places to make an S shape, probably to form a love token. The coin is a halfpenny of George III, first issue, dated 177[-]. The obverse is illegible, possibly smoothed off for the new purpose. The reverse shows Britannia with a date in the exergue, but the last digit is unclear. It may be a 5. Spink Standard catalogue number 3774. The database has many examples of love tokens, with more information in record SWYOR-8A8437 for example. The object is 27.2mm long, 23.4mm wide, 4.2mm thick and weighs 5.77g.

A copper alloy whistle from the Post-Medieval period, dating from around 1700 - 1850. The whistle is cone shaped, flaring outwards from the open mouth piece end. At the other end the whistle is terminated by a stepped domed cap. This has an integral attachment ring through which passes another copper alloy ring.The rim of the cap is slightly raised and decorated with beading. A Modern gold finger ring probably dating from AD 1800 - 1950, and thus too young to be declared as treasure under the 1997 Treasure Act. The ring has a flat hoop of rectangular cross-section. It widens and thickens at the bezel area. A separate elliptical decorated panel appears to have been attached to the outer face of the hoop to form the bezel. A cast iron possible cannon ball, which, judging from the size and weight, was probably for use in a Falconet or similar small artillery weapon, dating from about AD 1500-1900. A Falconet was a small cannon used both on land and in light naval vessels. A number were used during the English Civil War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falconet_(cannon).
