A tiny silver ingot, comprising a sub-rectangular bar, of rectangular cross-section, with hammer facets visible on all four lightly concave faces. The ends are complete and rounded. Date: uncertain. The form and general appearance of the object are insufficiently diagnostic to demonstrate a date of more than 300 years old. Short length of gold strip, probably deliberately broken. In the absence of archaeological context it is not possible to assign this to any particular date or culture and is best regarded as an undiagnostic fragment. It is noted that two Middle Bronze Age ribbon torcs were found two fields away (2009 T435). The widths recorded for them are less in both cases. Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find it cannot be securely dated to pre-1710 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996 Gillian Varndell

Object type: PENANNULAR RING
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Buckinghamshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A cast copper alloy pennanular ring. The ring is widest around the centre of its circumference, with an almost triangular section. There is a small break in the circumference of the ring about 1.5mm wide and the ring is narrower on this side (about 3.5mm). The widest part of the ring on the opposing side is about 5.5mm wide. The internal diameter is about 13.5mm. The uneven width of the ring might suggest wear from use, in which case it is possible that the gap in the ring is a break and not intentional. The dating of this object is uncertain.
