A complete Early Medieval copper alloy strap end of Class B Type 2, dating from c. AD 750-1100. The strap end is sub triangular in shape, the split attachment end is at the wider end. The strap end narrows gradually to a rounded point. The terminal point is worn, but originally would have been zoomorphic in design. Running up the face of the strap end is incised decoration, the strap end is worn so it is unclear what it depicts.  At the split attachment end are two circular perforations on both plates, on the front plate one of these perforations is worn and broken.…

An almost complete copper alloy strap end or nail cleaner, dating to the late Roman to early medieval period, c. AD 350-450. The body of the strap end is oval in shape, at one end there is a circular loop projecting. This sits perpendicular to the body and is worn and broken. An incomplete, copper alloy, possible, Early Medieval, strap end, AD.600-850. The object comprises a tapering piece of metal undecorated on both faces. There is a worn break at the widest point, possibly where the rivet hole has broken and become worn away. The lack of decoration and diagnostic features make it difficult to be cetrain on the function of this object. The shape of the object does closely resemble simple strap ends of the Early Medieval period.
