Complete but very worn and pierced silver twenty pence of Charles I (Scottish issue). Third issue, minted 1637-1642. Coin Reference: Compare with Spink (Coins of Scotland, Ireland & the Islands), numbers 5581-5588, due to wear the existence of lettering & other marks on the coins, which distinguishes between these coin groups, is difficult to ascertain. There is however a lozenge present at the end of the reverse legend.
