Post medieval silver halfgroat of Charles I dating to the period AD 1638 - 1642. Initial mark: book. Mint of Aberystwyth. See: North, Vol. II, p. 146, no. 2342 - 2344. Silver Scottish twenty pence of Charles I, Edinburgh, Falconer's issue with an F at the end of the reverse legend, 1637-42. Gilded on both sides and with neat (approx 1.5mm diameter) piercings just inside the inner circles at approximately 5 o'clock and 11 o'clock (on the obverse). This reuse places the coin in the category of an object and thus it qualifies as Treasure under the 1997 Treasure Act.
