H, S, (1980) type Sutton b, closest in outline to examples i and j (page 122, fig. 45), of off-white patinated flint with the numerous small inclusions within the flint a mid-grey colour, one face has three small spots of rusty iron, probably from contact with agricultural machinery. A heavily abraded sherd of hand-made Bronze Age pottery, probably in the Deverel-Rimbury or possibly post Deverel-Rimbury plainware tradition. The fabric is reduced grey with an oxidised reddish exterior and a calcined flint temper. The sherd has a curve to it suggesting it forms part of the side of a beaker or urn. A fragment of an early to middle Bronze Age copper alloy flanged or palstave axehead, comprising a 19.9mm long section of the butt end. The fragment is wedge shaped in side profile, with the tapering ends of parallel ridges along each side creating a characteristic H shaped cross section at the break, which is patinated and ancient.

An incomplete Bronze Age flint barbed and tanged arrowhead, dating to 2500-1500 BC. The arrowhead is made from a tertiary flake of pale brown flint with a low gloss patina. One of the barbs is missing. Both faces have covering ,invasive pressure flaking. The majority of the arrowhead remains, it has one complete barb and the tang is intact. A section of a copper alloy axehead. It is triangular in section, being a blunt point on one side, and crescent shaped, but not symmetrical across its break, being more pointed at one end than the other. The blade is not facetted. There is some loss of material from the faces. Along the broken face there is a suggestion that it might have been hollow and therefore a section of socketed axehead, but this is not definitive. Object is an incomplete, small, copper alloy flat axehead, probably dating from the Early Bronze Age period (c. BC 2350 - c. BC 2050). The axe is broadly rectangular in plan with a slightly splayed crescentric blade. The sides of the axe gently taper outwards with a shallow curve, from the rounded butt to the blade. The surfaces are flat and do not show any signs of side flanges. A barbed and tanged arrowhead, formed by knapping. It is made of a pale semi- transluscent flint with some inclusions. It is slightly flatter on one side then the other, and the tip of one of the barbs is missing. Having been found near a beach it has been worn so no sharp edge remains, but the shape is consistent. Arrowheads such as these, see also NMGW-24C12C, are classified as Sutton Type B (Green 1980) are commonly associated with the emergence of the Beaker phenomenon in Britain.
