Large chape, probably for a scabbard but possibly also for a staff. The shape resembles an open-tipped cone. It tapers from the wider, broken end to the narrower, neat end. There is ribbed decoration covering the chape in a lengthways direction. Originally circular in section, the wider end has been crushed, causing distortion of the shape and cracking along the sides of the object.

A cast copper-alloy drop handle lug which probably formed part of a chafing dish of late medieval or post-medieval date. Similar handle lugs were also used for small chests and casks. The lug measures 23.3mm by 16.1mm by 9.3mm, and weighs 16.1g. It is in the form of a flat oval cylinder, which has a central circular perforation (diameter 6.7mm) and a flared end from which projects the remains of an integral rivet. Incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting of probable post-medieval date (1500-1700). The strap fitting is broadly sub-rectangular in plan and the body of the fitting is domed (D shaped) in cross-section; the edges are beveled. The front face has been decorated with a number of both cast and incised decoration. This decoration consists of a repeating floral pattern which is contained within a simple border which is incised on the beveled edges of the fitting. 201 Aldin Grange pottery fragments. Of the 201 fragments, 41 are diagnostic, including 20 rim sherds. Aldin Grange pottery was produced in the mid-14th to mid-15th century in what is now Bearpark Civil Parish. Evidence for medieval pottery manufacture in Durham county is not prolific, with Aldin Grange representing one of few relatively large-scale pottery works.

The foot of a cast copper alloy Colchester-Derivative bow brooch of early Roman date. The fragment measures 22.3mm by 6.5mm by 13.9mm (including the catchplate) and weighs 2g. The fragment comprises the lower part of the bow, which narrows gently into a forward-projecting flat semi-circular foot. There is a curving triangular catchplate behind the foot. The front of the brooch, which is slightly convex, is decorated with a longitudinal moulded zigzagged line, which is set within a plain recess.

Fragment of a cast copper alloy double looped (spectacle) buckle of post-medieval date (1600-1750). The fragment is from one end of the frame; the rest of the frame and pin are missing. The extant fragment consists of a decorated pin-rest and a series of floral (rose) decorations. A silvered / tin surface has been applied to the front face of the frame. The reverse of the frame is plain and undecorated. Both the breaks on either end are much worn and abraded suggesting that the damage is relatively old. Medieval copper alloy key with trefoil shaped handle composed of three open rings. A plain collar joins the handle to a circular sectioned stem. The section becomes sub-rectangular at the bit end, due to damage which has flattened the stem. The smooth appearance of the wound suggests that the key remained in use after this damage occurred. The bit is rectangular. It appears that there was originally another dimension to the bit, positioned at the end furthest from the stem and perpendicular to the remaining portion.
