A fragment of a Post Medieval contemporary forgery of a 2 Thaler coin of the City of Cologne, German States, dating from AD1569 - 1572. The coin is lead-alloy, with the original coin being made of silver. The fragment consists of the 9 - 11 o'clock section of the obverse, and 5 - 7 o'clock section of the reverse.  The remaining section of the obverse depicts the head of a rampant griffon.
