A very worn, copper-alloy Scottish twopence, or thistle turner, of Charles I , AD1642-9. The obverse shows a crowned CR, possibly with a pellet dividing the letters, with an illegible inscription around it. The reverse, also very worn, probably shows a thistle, again surrounded by an illegible description. The coin is probably as described in Spink no.5602, page 86 (2002) or in Murray and Stewart, plate III, types 1-6. The coin weighs 1.8g; it has a diameter of 18.96mm and is 1.09mm. thick.
