A probably modern imitation lead alloy coin in the form of an Early Medieval silver coin. The piece appears to be inspired by a coin of Eadgar (959 - 975), Pre-reform two line type (959 - 973). It is very similar to North number 741, but the moneyer's name is 'NORB/ER' which is not one of the listed possibilities. The finder has had the piece tested using XRF and it is made of a high lead alloy. The crosses in the design seem thinner and cruder than the illustrated genuine coins. The piece is 22.63mm in diameter and 1.4mm thick. It weighs 3.9g.

A modern forgery in silver of an early-medieval penny of Edward the Confessor (1042-66), 'expanding cross' type, light coinage (North 820), naming the Warwick mint and the moneyer Lufinc. The coin has been identified as part of a series of coin produced by Trevor Ashmore in the 1970s and 1980s (see Abramson 2012, 190). Diameter: 19mm; weight: 1.13g (17.4gn); die axis is 0.

A modern copy of an Early Medieval silver halfpenny of Edward the Elder (899-924), based upon Norrth 660 (floral penny) albeit seemingly intended to be a halfpenny version, of which no real examples are known. The style and flan of the coin are not consistent with an early-medieval piece- the flan is too smooth and the design/inscription too well defined and crisp. A MODERN replica of an early-medieval penny of Edward the Confessor (1042-66), Radiate/ Small cross type (1044-46), Reference: North 816. The coin was most likely produced by David Greenhalgh, aka Grunel Moneta, a re-enactor who produces replicas of a wide variety of coins, often with the reverse displaying the name 'GRVNAL'.
