A medieval silver coin; a Continental Sterling imitation probably dating from 1313 - 1322 AD. It was struck for Gaucher of Chatillon, at the Mint of Yves. LVPL-330D02 is a very detailed record of another example of this coin. See Mayhew number 237 - 239. PAS is grateful to P and B Withers for the list of Sterling imitation legends they have provided in advance of publication.

A Medieval silver coin; a contemporary continental imitation of an Edwardian Penny dating from the late 13th or 14th century. See Meyhew number 377. This coin has also been recorded on the UKDFD database as number 28324. The record there notes that: "[The coin was] possibly struck at the Yves mint of Gaucher de Chatillon. A medieval silver coin; a continental sterling imitation crockard of John II of Avesnes, the Count of Hainaut (1280-1307). The mint is Valenciennes in Hainaut. It is suggested that Valenciennes struck the earliest Hainaut sterlings in c. AD1290-1, then was closed during the rebellion of the town against John of Avesnes in 1291-7, and was then reopened in 1297 as documents show. See Mayhew number 24, and 28 - 32. Compare also YORYM-95B641, BH-3C0C57, NARC-55A846 and KENT-7536A7.

An incomplete Medieval silver coin: a continental sterling imitation issued by John the Blind, King of Bohemia and Duke of Luxemburg (AD 1310-1346), Marville mint. Half of the coin has been torn away and is missing. The remaining portion is 18.4mm long, 8.9mm wide and 0.9mm thick. It weighs 0.55gm. The data kindly provided by P and B Withers indicated that this coin is Mayhew number 285.
