A complete and misshapen Medieval silver Continental copy of an Edwardian sterling penny (1267-1294). Mayhew 1983: 45, ref: 43. The coin was struck by John I (1261-1294) or John II (1294-1312), Dukes of Brabant and Limburg, 1286-1299. Obverse: I:DVX:LIMBVRGIE; Facing crockard bust with a chaplet of flowers and wedged drapery Reverse: DVX/BRA/BAN/TIE; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant Diameter: 18.0mm. A medieval silver Continental sterling imitation of Henry III of Kuinre (Netherlands); Mayhew 176 (variation); date: c. AD 1294-1304. The coin is very similar to Mayhew 176 but it lacks the punctuation of the latter's obverse and the reverse spelling of CON/REN on M176 is changed to CVN/REI on this example.

A Medieval silver coin; an incomplete pollard type continental sterling of Guy de Dampierre, Count of Flanders (1251 - 1305), Mayhew type 16, dating from about 1296, the mint possibly Namur. It is 16.2mm long, 15.77mm wide and 0.7mm thick. It weighs 0.65gm.
