A fragment of a medieval silver penny of Henry I (1100-35), full face/cross fleury type (North 866; BMC type X), mint and moneyer uncertain but possibly Thorr of Northampton. Ref: North 1994: 197. The coin is broken with roughly half of the inscription missing. The break runs across the outer circle and approximately around the line of the inner beaded circle which encloses the bust. Obverse: Bust facing crowned and diademed, Reverse: cross fleury with annulet centre, mint and moneyer unknown. Diameter: 18.4mm Weight: 0.82gms

An incomplete medieval silver coin: a penny of Henry I (AD 1100 - 1135), type 15, dating from about AD 1125 - 1135. It is a quadrilateral on cross fleury reverse type. Much of the edge and legends are missing. The coin is worn and bent. Mint unknown. Compare North (1994) number 871 on page 198. The remaining portion is 16.6mm long, 14.9mm wide and 0.8mm thick. It weighs 0.89g. This coin is an addendum to 2008 T271 (YORYM-DEBA55), a hoard of 178 coins of the Henry I, type 15 pennies.
