A coin brooch made from a halfpenny of Henry I, Canterbury mint, Moneyer Winedei (North 872), cAD1107 (EMC 2015.0120). The reverse of the coin has been gilded and pierced by six small circular holes of which four are in line. Three holes retain rivets, which are presumably also of silver. Of the three empty holes one has clearly been punched from the obverse.

Moneyer: Wulfric Mint: Canterbury John Naylor of the Ashmolean Museum states that the coin is: "Henry I bmc i (North no. 857), 'annulets' issue, with the visible inscription of HNR. This is a rare but previously known variant". Martin Allen of the Fitzwilliam Museum, states that "The full inscription may have been +P[VLFRIC ON CA]NTL or similar.
