A silver post medieval milled sixpence of William III, (1694-1702). William III, milled coins were issued from 1696-1702. The obverse bears the draped bust of William III facing right. Obverse legend: GVLIELMUS [III] DEI GR[A]. The reverse displays the four crowned cruciformed shields with the Lion at centre. Reverse legend: MAG BR [FRA ET HIB] REX and date 1690 around crown. Initial N to left of bust suggesting Norwich as Mint. Dimensions: diameter: 20.99 mm, thickness: 0.92 mm, weight: 2.75 grams.

A silver sixpence of William III dating to the period AD 1694 - 1702. Crowned cruciform shield reverse. Mint of Norwich. The reverse of the coin is worn smooth and there are bends to either edge of the flan suggesting an attempt was made to convert the coin into a love token.

This is a silver shilling of William III (1694-1702). This example shows the obverse with the laureate, draped bust right and the reverse with crowned cruciform shields of England, Scotland, France and Ireland. The coin has the remnant of a probable letter ā€˜Nā€™ below the bust for the Norwich mint. It is in a poor condition being very worn to both sides.
