This is a hammered silver Double Patard, of Charles the Bold (1467-77) of Flanders and Brabant (present day Belgium). The obverse has the quartered shield of arms and the reverse bears an ornate cross fleury. The coin is in fair condition with some clipping to the rim. As a part of a commercial and political pact, these coins were made legal tender in 1469 and circulated as the exact equivalent of a Groat until 1530.
