A copper alloy post Medieval coin; an Irish halfcrown (large size) of James II, dated 1689. The reverse type is a crown over sceptres dividing JR, with XXX above and month of issue below. Unfortunately the month is illegible. The first letter is a possible J, but uncertain. Measures 31.9mm diameter x 2.3mm, weighing 11.82g. See 'Standard Catalogue of British coins' volume 2, number 6579.

A tin farthing of James II (1685-88), very corroded and is chipped around the edge. There is a rectangular copper plug in the centre of the coin. The date is illegible, but these coins were issued for 1697 only. It is 23.6mm in diameter and 2.9mm thick. It weighs 4.96gm. Reference: Spink (2003) number 3421.
