16th-18th Century. Lead alloy, cast, medium size, uniface token. Length 22.2mm, Width 19.3mm, Thickness 4.1mm, Diameter 22.2mm, Weight 8.8g. Obverse: Moulded 'spider web' design with a relatively large central pellet or 'spider' in the centre. Little wear but some minor damage probably by the plough to the flan at one point and the back, otherwise a pale grey patina. Ref. A uniface medieval, lead alloy token, dating from c. 1100-1500. The upper surface is decorated with a crude sun or star design consisting of eight raised lines radiating from a central point. The reverse is rough but appears not to be decorated. It is 14.4mm in diameter and 3mm thick. It weighs 2.34gm. Reference: Fletcher, Tokens and Tallies Through the Ages, p. 32.
