A silver Portugese 20 Reis, probably issued by Joseph I between 1706 and 1777. The Portuguese counterpart to the Spanish quarter real.
Obverse: Openwork globe with a rouletted border.
Reverse: Voided cross potent. P in each quarter. Rouletted border.
No inscriptions.
Circular hole located just off centre, punched from reverse to obverse. Internal diameter is 2.0 mm.

An extremely worn silver half real of "Spain". On the obverse there is possibly a yoke, the symbol of Ferdinand V, and on the reverse a bundle of arrows, the symbol of Isabella I. In, "Coins of Europe", Carson, R. A. (1962, p.315) states that this type was introduced in 1497 under Ferdinand V and Isabella I (1474-1504-1516) but continued to be minted until 1537, within the reign of Charles V. Mass: 0.9g. Diameter: 19.2mm.

In "Coins and Tokens from Ireland", Seaby (1970, p.58-9) states: "In order to replace Elizabeth's war-time base money james issued a new coinage in "fine" silver between 1603 and 1607 which was minted in London; but his objective was a uniform currency throughout his realm of "Great Britain and Ireland" and thenceforward only the standard silver coins of the Tower mint were made for use in Ireland.…

A broken silver sterling imitation of an Edwardian type penny of Henry II, Archbishop of Cologne, 1306-32, Bonn Mint.
In "Sterling Immitations of Edwardian Type", Mayhew states that the most distinctive feature of the coins issued by Henry II, Archbishop of Cologne is the "Irish" triangle around the bust on the obverse. (p.81). The coin described here does not have the Irish triangle - the mitred bust is set within a beaded circle. The reverse is a short cross fleuronee.
