Medieval Scottish coin; struck silver penny of Alexander III, second coinage, class Ma, dating to c.1280-1286. Mint uncertain but the total of 24 points on the reverse mullets may suggest the Berwick mint. Obv. Crowned profile bust of king left, with sceptre before bust ALEXANDER DEI GRA Rev. Long cross pattee which divides the legend. A six-pointed mullet in each quadrant.
