Copper alloy coin, possibly a counterfeit of a French douzain of the later 16th century (Ed Besly pers comm). Or "it might be a sol parisis of Henri III (1551-1589) or Henri IV (1589-1610) of France. These coins have hollow crosses on the reverse, that are also quite short with fleurs-de-lis on the ends. The cross here is certainly hollow, but I am not sure if it is short or if it is just the corrosion taking over. It is the right size (c. 2cm) for this as well. The obverses have a crowned H with fleurs-de-lis around, but I cannot see anything on this" (Barrie Cook pers comm).
