A half noble of Philip the Bold, Duke of Burgundy and Count and Lord of Flanders, a.d. 1384-1404. This type of coin copies English nobles and half nobles very closely so based on the reverse legend this is a half noble.
Obv: PhS DEI G DVX BVRG COM Z DNS FLAND
Duke in a ship, holding a sword and shield with the arms of Burgundy (note stripes rather than lions alternating with lis in quarters).
Rev: DOMInE nE In fVRORE TVO ARGVAS ME
Cross, etc., as on the English nobles, but with p in the centre.

Four coins reported found on the site of a previous find of similar coins. These coins are all gold doblas of Peter or Pedro I, King of Castile ('Pedro the Cruel'), who reigned 1350-69. All the coins were struck at the Seville mint, the main mint of Castile. They are of good weight and are in generally good condition, with slight indications of wear, so they have seen some currency.
