An incomplete Medieval silver coin; probably a Burgundian double patard of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgandy and Count of Flanders (AD 1467-1477) dating from AD 1467-1477. The coin is 25.2mm long, 16.5mm wide and 0.6mm thick. 1.4g. A medieval silver coin: a Anglo-Gallic hardi d'argent, probably Edward the Black Prince as Prince of Aquitaine, issued AD 1362 - 1371, Elias 208 (no mint letter at end of ovberse inscription. Ref: Elias 1984, 190-1. The coin is damaged, being slightly clipped and having a section of the edge missing between 12 and 4 o'clock on the obverse. It is 19.4mm long, 16.4mm wide and 0.6mm thick. It weighs 0.86gm.

British Museum Curatorial Report: "I have examined an object reported found at "Darrington", West Yorkshire. The object is a piedfort or piéfort version of the coin-type known as the denier of the counts of Blois-Chartres. The reference to the coin is J. Duplessy, Les monnaies françaises féodales (2004) no. 585. This was the last of the anonymous Blois denier series (coins that do not name an individual count) and the only one of them for which there are known examples of piedforts, as several of this type have been recorded. A Medieval silver coin; a continental sterling imitation (a crockard) of John II of Avesnes, count of Hainaut (1280-1304) and count of Holland (1299-1304), dating from AD1290 - 1300. The mint is Mons (now in present-day Belgium). For reference, see Mayhew number 34 (or 159-160) as cited in Withers (forthcoming). The coin has suffered some damage since deposition in the soil and is now bent. It is 19.2mm in diameter and 0.8mm thick. It weighs 1.37gm.

A silver coin; probably a penny of Edward IV (1461 – 1483) minted at Dublin. The outside of the coin is severely clipped. It has a diameter of 14.77mm, thickness 0.57mm, weight 0.43g. There is an extra pellet in two quarters of the reverse. A reference for this at the Dublin mint has not yet been found. A similar coin except in that respect is number 6323 in Seaby’s Standard Catalogue Volume II.
