A hammered silver Irish penny of Edward IV (1461-1483).The obverse has the crowned bust with a mullet to each side of the crown.The reverse has a long cross pattée with three pellets in each angle and the quatrefoil at centre.The coin is probably from the light ‘cross and pellets’ issue circa 1473-78. This coin is deeply clipped with four clear cuts to each quadrant.

Silver Coin. Penny. Dave Greenhalgh kindly identifies this as a coin of Alexander III of Scotland, probably from the Berwick Mint. Obverse design: Crowned head in profile facing left, sceptre to left. Reverse design: Long cross with six-pointed star in each quarter. Reverse inscription: -M+ REX --- --- Diameter: c.18mm, weight: 0.90gms. Damaged; right side of outer circle is lost.
