An extremely worn and corroded copper alloy Medieval coin called a ceitil, probably of Alfonso V (1438-1481 AD), Lisbon. A ceitil is one-sixth of a real. The obverse depicts a three-towered castle above rows of waves and the reverse a square-topped shield bearing the arms of Portugal. The legends are illegible. The possible coin measures approximately 16.5 mm diameter, 0.67 mm thick and weighs 0.94 grams. For further PAS database examples, cf.: LON-C05BD4; LON-BF9534; IOW-13FC24.

A badly damaged Medieval silver coin probably a half real of Ferdinand and Isabella (1469-1502 AD). Although very worn, the obverse appears to have the 'Yoke of Aragon' the symbol of Ferdinand, while the reverse carries Isabella's mark, the Arrows of Castile. None of the legends can be determined.

Two reales of Isabella (Queen of Castile and Leon 1451-1504)and Ferdinand III (King of Argon 1452-1516). The two jointly financed Columbus's expeditions. Obverse:Yoke and fasces of Arrows. Inscription: Illegible except for 'IAN'. Reverse: Shield/Coat or Arms. Inscription: Illegible. Very worn, struck a little off centre or lightly clipped, good silver colour but also surface tarnish especially on the obverse.

Post Medieval silver French Dixième d'écu dit "aux branches d'olivier" (silver 10 centime piece with olive branches) of Louis XVI (1774-1793), Minted at Paris, Mint master Jean Dupeiron (1757-1781) Master Engraver François Bernier (1774-1793), dated 1779 AD. The coin is pierced at 12 o'clock on the obverse and 6 o'clock on the reverse. Louis XVI was deposed by the revolution and the coin may have been pierced by a Royalist to wear as a sign of loyalty.

Medieval silver penny, probably a continental imitation of a coin of Edward I-III, possibly Mayhew 240b issued by Gaucher of Chatillon, 1300-1325 AD. While the coin is identical in many ways with an English regular issue it combines features not normally seen together on the same coin. It has a bifoliate crown which is only found in Class 10 onwards or the coins of Edward III. However the legend EDW R ANGL DNS hYB is only found on Classes 1-9 or the Florin coinage of Edward III. Cast lead alloy coin weight for a Pieter d'Or of Brabant. The weight is rectangular with a three quarter lengh figure of St Peter standing facing front, holding a book in his raised right hand and a key in his left hand. Pieter d'Or were first minted in the reign of King Wenceslas and Queen Joan (1355-1383) and continued to be minted into the 15th century under Philip the Good (1430-1467). The weight is 12.4mm long by 11.8mm wide by 3.8mm and weighs 4.39 grams.
