Obv: ALEXANDER.DEI.GRA bust facing left with sceptre in front
Rev: REX/SCO/TOR/RVM longcross with 6-pointed mullet in each quarter. The total of 24 point suggests a probable Berwick mint.

A medieval silver coin; a continental coin (stirling imitation?) from Brussels, probably of Jan III the Victorious, Duke of Brabant (1312 – 1355). It has a diameter of 17.48mm, thickness 0.79mm, weight 1.18g. Ref. Vanhoudt G248. De Witte 307 (http://users.telenet.be/medievalcoins/Brabant.htm). Reference: J. Chautard, Imitations des monnaies au type esterlin frapées en Europe pendant le XIIIe et le XIVe siècle (Nancy, 1871), p.62, no.112 and Pl. IX, 9. Only two examples of this coin have been recorded on the pAs adatabase previously: LVPL-C97AA3 and CAM-CDDCD1

A hammered silver Irish penny of Edward IV (1461-1483).The obverse has the crowned bust with a mullet to each side of the crown.The reverse has a long cross pattée with three pellets in each angle and the quatrefoil at centre.The coin is probably from the light ‘cross and pellets’ issue circa 1473-78.
This coin is deeply clipped with four clear cuts to each quadrant.
