1433-1477. Silver alloy, hammered 'Charles The Bold, Duke of Burgundy' Double Patard coin. Length 12.9mm, Width 9.8mm, Thickness 0.6mm, Weight 0.4g. Very small and less than a quarter of the orginal coin. Roughly triangular shape. Obverse: Extreme wear with the odd letter of the legend and one side of a probable shield of France just visible. Reverse: Extreme wear with probable terminal of a cross fleuretty and four letters from the legend visible. Some light clipping.

A group of 12 or so late medieval jettons fused together into a sloping pile either through heat or, more likely, corrosion. One has become detached and only this and the visible faces at the ends of the remaining pile are identifiable, and none fully.
1. Bavarian type shield, Mitchiner p.337, with a fictitious legend. c1440-1493.
2. Probably Tournai. A cross ending in lys terminals within a tressure. Fictitious legend. Late 15th century.

The dimensions of the visible jettons are 26.4mm…
