The token shows Volcanus on one side and Ciparissus on the other. It is quite worn and has a dull, dark brown patina over its surface. Obv. Vulcan at his anvil, flanked by Cupid, Mars and Venus VOLCANVS; H.K. in exergue Rev. Medieval jeton; struck copper alloy French jeton of 15th century date. The jeton has a cross initial mark and versions of the same legend on either side. The inscription is ‘Ave Maria Gracia Plena’, or ‘Hail Mary full of grace’. The design on the obverse is known as the "Chatel Tournois", the Castle of Tours design of the town of Tours, suggesting that this may be of the Tournai mint. Obv. Arabic coin; milled copper alloy coin with inscriptions in Arabic script. The date and origin of this coin are not known but is most likely to be post medieval or modern. The coin has a beaded border around both faces. One face has a short inscription in a small inner circle. There is another circle between the inner circle and the beaded border. The other face has a longer inscription arranged in four lines within a large inner circle. The coin is pierced with a small, circular hole near the edge, presumably to allow it to be suspended. Diameter 28.43mm, weight 4.07g.

The shield seems to have a chevron across the middle, with three symbols (arranged in a triangle) below and a band across the top which may represent crenellations. Medieval french coin weight; circular copper alloy uniface coin weight with a design of a man on a horse. Per Withers’ book this is a weight for the franc a cheval which was issued in the reigns of Jean II and Charles V (1364-1380). The weight does have an inscription, although this is mostly illegible. Quite worn. Diameter 14.4mm, thickness 2.8mm, weight 3.14g Ref: This weight is described and illustrated in Withers “Lions Ships and Angels” page 32. The franc a cheval is detailed on page 70.
