Post medieval coin; Struck gold fanam from the Cochin area of the Dutch West coast of India. This is a very tiny, dished coin with abstract designs of circles, lines and dots on both sides. The coin was identified by Sam Moorhead (British Museum), who notes that coins of this type were struck by the Rajas of Cochin and the Zamorins of Kalicut in the period c1600-1800. Post medieval token; Struck copper alloy jeton from the Nuremberg workshop of Hans Krauwinkel II (1586-1635), part of the Franco-allegorical series dated 1589. The token shows Volcanus on one side and Ciparissus on the other. It is quite worn and has a dull, dark brown patina over its surface. Obv. Vulcan at his anvil, flanked by Cupid, Mars and Venus VOLCANVS; H.K. in exergue Rev. Arabic coin; milled copper alloy coin with inscriptions in Arabic script. The date and origin of this coin are not known but is most likely to be post medieval or modern. The coin has a beaded border around both faces. One face has a short inscription in a small inner circle. There is another circle between the inner circle and the beaded border. The other face has a longer inscription arranged in four lines within a large inner circle. The coin is pierced with a small, circular hole near the edge, presumably to allow it to be suspended. Diameter 28.43mm, weight 4.07g.

The token is very worn but seems to have a heraldic shield on one face, surrounded by the inscription IOHN:WILL[…]S with a five-pointed star initial mark. The shield seems to have a chevron across the middle, with three symbols (arranged in a triangle) below and a band across the top which may represent crenellations.
