Probably a silver 10 sols ('aux insignes') of Louis XIV of France, bent into a 'love token' The practice of bending coins out of shape and smoothing the coins surface and presenting them to others as a gesture of love was common from the late 17th century until the 19th century. They were often engraved with symbols of love or the initials of the sender and recipient.

Silver croat of Ferdinand I of Aragon as count of Barcelona (1412-16). Cayon, Cayon and Cayon No. 1766. The type was introduced under Pedro III (1285-91) and carried on into the 16th century, under Ferdinand V (the Catholic) The coin was rolled up when found but has been unrolled since. The coin has also been pierced, perhaps for re-use as a pendant.

Silver double patards of the dukes of Burgandy, from their territories of Brabant and Flanders, were made legally current in England as equal to groats (i.e. fourpence) in a convention of 1469 between Edward IV and Charles the Bold. Copper Courte of Charles V (1506-55) ruler of the Spanish Netherlands, Province Brabant, and Holy Roman Emperor. The copper courte is of the Maestricht mint (initial mark: star), date illegible, but either 1548-53 or 1555. Reference is Van Gelder & Hoc, Les monnaies des Pays-Bas bourguignons et espagnols 1434-1713 198.2b.
