A silver medieval or post-medieval Russian coin, probably a denga of 14th or15th-century date or possibly a kopek of the 15th to 18th century, although the former appears more likely. Little remains of the inscription on either side, and further identification has not been possible.
Its oval shape is due to the nature of its manufacture, being cut from lengths of silver wire.

Medieval Scottish cut halfpenny, probably of Alexander III.
The coin is similar to class 6 of the first coinage, but the position of the 'A' on the obverse inscription does not fit with this identification.
